In Part 5 of this study we mentioned three groups of individuals who would enter the great tribulation (specifically the final phase, Armageddon) two of whom would pass through it completely and one who would only go through its opening stages. 1) The Great Company 2) The nation of Israel 3) The world of mankind. Now in our last several posts we hope we have proven from the scriptures that there will definitely be both good and bad people who…
Jacob’s Trouble continued It is conceivable that many of the great literal occurrences of the Old Testament will have a brief, concentrated, literal, limited application in Israel in Jacob’s Trouble to show it is the God of nature and the God of Israel who is manifesting power. Remember God’s promise, “Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, and your spoil will be divided in your midst. For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; the city…
Jacob’s Trouble continued Ezekiel expresses it eloquently: “And it shall come to pass at the same time, when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God, that my fury shall come up in my face. For in my jealousy, and in the fire of my wrath, have I spoken, surely, in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel. . . And I will plead against him [Gog] with pestilence and…
Jacob’s Trouble continued We continue with the hallowing of the Lord through the defeat of Gog before the eyes of the world as recorded in Isaiah 66 Verse 18 “For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.” God knows the works and thoughts of the unfaithful Jews. He will gather all nations to Israel at the end of the age. They…
Jacob’s Trouble continued “It shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen [or nations] may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes” (Ezek 38:8–12,14–16). There are two ways in which we might envision God being hallowed in Gog before the eyes of the nations. The first is that suggested by Brother Shallieu. “When these forces attack Israel, the eyes of the world will be…
With respects to the second confederacy of nations mentioned previously those who take no part in the physical invasion, but who nonetheless do nothing to impede it, Brother Frank Shallieu has another perspective as to who these might well represent somewhat similar to that of Brother Hagensick. (This second perspective is the one I myself favor of the two). First let us take a look at the text once again, “Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish, and all their young…
The final phase of Armageddon, prophetically described as, “Jacob’s trouble” “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away (who would see its demise) will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.” (Zech 12:2,…
From what we have learned thus far it is apparent that before looking for the invasion of Gog from the land of Magog we should first be looking for the impending Arab invasion of Israel which is to precede it. What say the Scriptures in this respect? “Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold your peace, and do not be still, O God! For behold, your enemies make an uproar; and those who hate you (Compare Ezek 25:15)…
Prelude to “Gog and Magog” (Some of you may have already seen some of this in our study on the war in the Middle East, but it’s still worth reviewing.) Typically when we think about the Gog and Magog incident we picture a great Russia hoard in coalition with various Arab nations coming together to do battle against Israel, but is this correct, is this truly what is going to take place or have we simply jumped to this conclusion…
As stated in our previous post we mentioned three groups of individuals living at the time who will enter the great tribulation: 1) The Great Company. 2) The nation of Israel. 3) The world of mankind. Two of these groups are destine not only to enter the great time of trouble, but likewise to survive it, that is some within them are. Now naturally one might assume that of the three which we have listed the two groups who would…
